Spring is here!!
Just a few quick reminders from your Volunteer HOA Board:
Your Volunteer HOA Board hopes that this email finds you and your family well! The Winter Season has past, and Spring is here, although the past three years has been a time like we have never known before. It seems as if more of us will continue to be spending more time in and around our homes for the upcoming months due to COVID-19. As a reminder, please be aware of walkers, runners, pets and children playing as you drive through the neighborhood and please maintain safe driving speeds in the neighborhood.
As all communities do, we have neighbors who fall into the “vulnerable populations” category for COVID-19 due to age or health issues. Please be mindful of those neighbors, as well as all our neighbors, by periodically checking in with them to ensure that their essential needs are being met.
Check here for the latest COVID-19 information from the following health agencies:

Leashes and Bounds…
As you are being out and about in the neighborhood in this cool Fall weather, please make sure for everyone’s safety (especially your pet’s) that you are following Guilford County Leash Laws if you own a dog. Every year, your Volunteer HOA Board receives emails concerning dogs that are unleashed while walking, or allowed to run loose in the neighborhood (not to be confused with those rascals that make the occasional escape). While we all might hope that our pets will behave like perfect angels, the reality is that they often inadvertently sniff out trouble that may be fearsome to others or dangerous to themselves. Therefore, please keep your dogs leashed when walking and when they are not on your property, and make sure that they are properly restricted to stay within the bounds of your property if off leash. The HOA Board cannot enforce the Guilford County Leash Laws, so if you do have an issue with a neighbor’s dog, please try to address it with them first, but any need for enforcement should be brought to the attention of Guilford County Animal Control (Facebook page).
- While on the subject of pets, just a reminder that our Restrictive Covenants state “No animals shall be kept or maintained on any lot herein restricted, except for household pets which shall be limited to two (2) dogs and two (2) cats”.
Pet Waste Station Placements
Please be courteous to your neighbors and use the Pet Waste Station nearest you when your pet has “to go”…
- Along Ridge Oaks Drive side of Aqua NC property near Case Ridge Drive entrance.
- Along Aqua NC property on Case Ridge Drive near the hill.
- Along Case Ridge Drive near the cul-de-sacs.
- We are looking to add a fourth Pet Waste Station somewhere along the Ridge Oaks Drive/Court area within Phase 3. If you would like to have one located on your property, please inquire to your Volunteer Board.
“Do Fence Me In” and other home additions…
Are you thinking about installing a fence for Fido? Don’t forget that all projects which significantly alter the exterior appearance of your home (additions, outbuildings, fences, pools, driveways, etc.) must be submitted to the Volunteer HOA Board for prior approval per the Restrictive Covenants. A complete set of covenants can be found on our website under the Covenants and Documents tab, or you can click here.
- Please submit “a complete set of plans and specifications thereof, including a site plan indicating placement on the lot, exterior building materials, and elevations” to the Volunteer Board at roha@riveroaksoakridge.org . The volunteers on the Board will work as quickly as possible to respond to your request, so please understand that it may take several days to gather the consensus needed to render a decision and please make allowances for that time in your project planning.

Be courteous to your neighbors
Just a reminder, and especially during times of undesirable weather, please maintain your trees, fencing, and property structures for upmost safety. Attend to all debris affecting fence lines and yard views promptly. Additionally, our community is home to the most important people (our children), please be alert and cautious when driving through the neighborhood.
