About Our Community

Celebrating over 25 years as one of historic Oak Ridge, North Carolina’s original planned communities outside of Greensboro, River Oaks’ gracious single-family homes were first built in 1995 in a series of four phases along beautifully preserved tree-lined streets for which the neighborhood was named.

Today, 164 single family, predominantly brick residences built by more than half a dozen of the region’s best builders — including Lamb & Peeples, Otey Construction, J.R. Kellam, Chuck Tucker, Generation Builders, Top Hat Builders, DLC & Son, and Tim Frazier Builders — are home to welcoming neighbors from down the street, across the country and even, around the world.

Families with children, retirees, and everyone in between who calls River Oaks home enjoys living along lush, tree-lined streets removed from the hustle and bustle of the big city with the convenience of community services, shopping and more just around the corner.

Conveniently located to Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Kernersville, and High Point, River Oaks is one of the most centrally located neighborhoods in the area to call home. And, it’s just a stone’s throw from the historic Oak Ridge Military Academy and the Old Mill of Guilford, too.

Today, our River Oaks Homeowners Association is led by home owner volunteers, who help ensure the vitality, beauty and spirit of our neighborhood endures.
